Paulo Roriz is an Auxiliar Professor at Institute University of Maia (ISMAI) and Polytechnic Institute of Maia (IPMAIA). Roriz has a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Master and a Bachelor degree in Sports. He has 25 years of teaching experience including Biomechanics, Ergonomics and Research Methodology, from bachelors to PhD degrees (since 2013).
Research
His main research interests are: transfer of technology (TOT) to health and sports science; gait analysis (e.g. walking, running, and jumping); work posture and manual handling of loads; developing and application of fiber optic sensors (FOS) for biomechanics and biomedical fields; performance assessment using Inertial Measurement Units (IMU) with integrated GPS and physiological data.
Roriz has been writing (h-index 8; i10 index 6) and collaborating as a reviewer in several national and international peer review journals. He is a family man with two fantastic children, the priority of his life and his greatest legacy.
